Pictures are still rolling in from Dragon Con 2014, and this batch by PixelatedImages Photography are some of my favorites. Check out his website for more of his work, and more cosplay pictures from Dragon Con. And of course, be sure to check out my cosplay page for more from Dragon Con.

Alternately titled ‘how I burned off all my finger prints with a hot glue gun.’
This began as an idle thought and a challenge between Jason and myself (I won, by the way). I loved Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I saw it six times in theaters. It’s based on one of my favorite comic runs of all time. Jason and I were actually at San Diego in the panel where they announced it in 2012. Which was surreal because I had just finished Ed Brubaker’s run.
So after the heartbreak over the cancellation of the Winter Soldier ongoing (though they gave him a new one and everything is fine now) and seeing the movie maybe one too many times, this idea took hold. Jason challenged me to a competition over who could make him a better Winter Soldier arm.
I have to tell you, it was an experience. A fun one. Both Jason and I had cosplayed before, but never to the extent we had at Dragon Con. (Remind me to share those USO girl pictures. I’m still ridiculously proud of my hat.)
First thing we learned: Atlanta is HOT.
After our mild Philadelphia Summer, it was quite the system shock to walk through the heat of Atlanta in not so breathable costumes. But we persevered! Complaining got us through.
Once we got over that, Atlanta was a lot of fun. The architecture was beautiful, and there were some really fantastic restaurants. Also, that Aquarium? Fantastic. If you’re going to Atlanta, go to the Aquarium.
But, to the part that probably got you here: The Cosplay!
Jason and I went as the Winter Soldier and Black Widow. I made put both of these together (Jason got us our prop guns) and will go in to detail about the process in a later post. But for now, I wanted to say I’m still here and show off some pictures. And I apologize in advance for the weird faces I make in pictures.
We also met this wonderful Captain America Cosplayer. Check out his FaceBook Page!
Did you take a picture of us or with us? I would love to see it! Let me know and I’ll link back to you.
I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who came out to Bucks County Community College’s first annual anime con, and to my fellow artists in the artists alley. You guys braved some pretty nasty weather, and as far as I’m concerned, you are all rockstars. Especially those who bought prints. You rock hardcore. And thank you to BCCC’s anime club for having me.
For those who took cards, check back often! A print shop is coming soon.
Wanted to ask me a question? Just use the contact form and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
NYCC was a blast. I hope everyone has as much fun as I did. We saw some awesome things, hung out with old friends, and met some great people. I hope you all enjoyed it, too.
I uploaded some new color work. Check it out here.
Also, stay tuned for a how to article called “Making an Iron Man Glove.” The alternate title being “Why I am the best girlfriend ever.”
